FONDAZIONE GINO MACALUSO
PER L’AUTO STORICA
The Fondazione Gino Macaluso per l’Auto storica has been founded in Turin in October 2018 in memory of Gino Macaluso, by the will of his wife and family.
The purpose of the Foundation is to enhance the car not as a vehicle, but as a cult object that has combined technological innovation with humanistic culture and artisan tradition with the beauty of avant-garde design, and which has influenced habits and society of the last century.
The Fondazione Gino Macaluso per l’Auto storica intends to expand the niche of vintage and sport car lovers, making Gino’s dream real.
Through his famous collection, it organizes, promotes and participates in events, competitions, rallies, exhibitions, fairs, seminars, conferences, workshops related to historic car, motoring and its protagonists.
At the same time, it promotes studies, restorations and publications on historic cars, as well as setting up scholarships, awards and other facilities to support the growth of young Italian drivers and their competitive careers, as well as designers and other professional figures linked to the Foundation’s main mission.
The Gino Macaluso Collection is the spark of ignition of the Foundation and its activities.
It consists of rally and Gran Turismo cars and it is unique in the world for the originality of its specimens and the races they won.
The Collection tells the story of the competitions that took place between the Sixties and the Nineties and that have entered history for the legendary challenges among the pilots, for the innovation brought by the competing models and for the enormous success achieved.
As a traveling museum, over the years the cars have taken part in many national and international events such as Goodwood Festival of Speed, Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance, Rallye Monte-Carlo Historique, Sanremo Rally Storico, Padova Auto and Vintage Motorcycles, Automotoretrò and Automotoracing and the Gino Macaluso Memorial on the occasion of the Cesana-Sestrières race.
They have also been exhibited in international museums such as the Louwman Museum, the French Racing Car Museum, Magny-Cours, the Ferrari Maranello Museum, the Enzo Ferrari Museum, the National Automobile Museum in Turin and many others, becoming a reference point for scholars, collectors and enthusiasts.
