1000 MIGLIA BY MAILANDER

17 May - 13 October, 2024

From May 17, 2024 on display the photos kept by the Revs Institute in Florida.

A fascinating narration set in post-war Italy, when a car competition became a real cultural phenomenon: this is 1000 Miglia by Mailander, the new exhibition that contains some of the most significant shots made by Rodolfo Mailander, photojournalist and then head of international relations for FIAT. 100 years after its birth, the exhibition tells the trait d’union between culture, society and the automotive world, offering visitors a cross-section of a country united by a passion for racing.

Open to the public from Friday, May 17, 2024, the exhibition proposes a journey in full 1000 Miglia style, involving four of the main car museums in Italy – Museo Mille Miglia of Brescia, Museo Nicolis di Villafranca di Verona, Museo Fratelli Cozzi di Legnano and, from 6 June 2024, Museo Nazionale dell’Automobile di Torino – and the Foundation Gino Macaluso per l’Auto Storica in a single project. The first fruit of this new partnership, the exhibition will offer in each museum a selection of images that Rodolfo “Rudy” Mailander has realized with his Leica to the “most beautiful race in the world”. Shots of absolute value, exceptionally granted by the prestigious Revs Institute in Florida, to give life to a historical and cultural cross-section of which the 1000 Miglia is both protagonist and context.

An unprecedented exhibition of which visitors can admire a part in each of the 4 museums: the Mille Miglia, Nicolis and Fratelli Cozzi until 13 October, while the MAUTO until 29 September.
